The spiraling effect of rumors, gossip and misinformation can have a negative impact on reputations, drive a wedge between friends and cause heartache. This program, set in an urban school, shows students that questioning what you hear, setting the record straight and confronting those who spread rumors is the best way to stop them.

Troy and Jake see graffiti in the bathroom and assume that Eric, who they see leave the bathroom, is the "artist." Eric confronts Jake, who says that Steve spread the rumor. Kids witness Eric and Steve having a heated exchange. The story goes around that Steve and Eric had a fistfight, and were arrested by the police. It's not true, but kids accept the rumor.

Eric overhears the nurse talking to Jake about medications he is taking. Eric tells his friends that Jake has a terrible, contagious disease. When Nicki, who has been going out with Jake, avoids him, Jake explains that the medication is for a mild seizure disorder. Nicki apologizes and regrets accepting the rumor as true.

Vanessa, Roberto and Tina are hanging out at Vanessa's house. Tina has to leave, but Roberto stays. When Jake and Kevin learn that Vanessa and Roberto were alone, they start the rumor that "something is going on between them." Embarrassed, Roberto laughs when he denies what his friends are saying so they don't believe him. Vanessa thinks that Roberto is helping to spread the rumor and confronts him. Together they let their friends know the truth.
