CANCER AS A FAMILY DIAGNOSIS: Supporting the Caregivers Series (3 Programs) DVD

This series describes the reactions of patients and family members at the time of diagnosis, during treatment, and at the end of life; and suggests intervention healthcare professionals can provide to help all of them through the process. Experts who work with cancer patients in acute care, home care, and hospice programs provide strategies to assist families during these times. In addition, interviews with oncology patients and their families provide viewers with more insight. The programs demonstrate assessment skills, communication techniques, intervention strategies and methods. As a result of learning and mastering these skills, nurses can use these competencies in the clinical setting.
