| KNOW HOW TO SAY NO: Student Workshop DVD
The ability to say "no" to a friend without jeopardizing the friendship is an essential skill at any age, but for children in the early stages of forming and maintaining healthy relationships with peers, it can be a difficult lesson to learn. This program equips students with five easy-to-learn tips for saying "no" to peer pressure. Making clear that everyone has the right to do what's best for them, the scenarios in this workshop demonstrate how to use these tips, applying them specifically to situations between friends. Tell How You Feel: A group of friends make one of their members feel that if she doesn't join them in smoking a cigarette, she won't be part of their group. Because I Don't Want To: Dramatizes why giving reasons for refusing to do something that goes against your values only makes it easier for the people doing the pressuring to try to change your mind. Walk Away: Viewers learn what actions to take when faced with pressure to do something they know is illegal or dangerous.
