Child abuse and neglect seem to have reached epidemic levels in our world today, and unfortunately millions of children who look to adults for love and care instead find pain and suffering. What effect does this breach of faith have on the children involved and the adults they will become? This program focuses on two extremes. First we speak with author David Pelzer, a victim of life-threatening child abuse by his white, middle-class mother. Second we meet a middle class black foster parent couple whose specialty is taking in the most problematic and troubled children with real love and affection.
