| CANCER AS A FAMILY DIAGNOSIS: Couples and Children (2 Programs) DVD
This two-program series describes the reactions of patients and family members at the time of diagnosis, during treatment, and at the end of life; and suggests intervention healthcare professionals can provide to help all of them through the process. Experts who work with cancer patients in acute care, home care, and hospice programs provide strategies to assist families during these times. In addition, interviews with oncology patients and their families provide viewers with more insight. The series consists of two programs: ALTERATIONS IN SEXUAL HEALTH (16 minutes) and REMEMBERING THE CHILDREN (14 minutes). These programs offer content and strategies to assist members of the cancer care team in providing knowledgeable and effective care to patients and their families. They explore common alterations in sexual health experienced by patients with cancer and discuss ways in which nurses can effectively support families struggling with sexual changes. The second film identifies common reactions, fears and needs of young children whose parents are experiencing various stages of illness. | ||||||||
