This program begins by explaining the major components of an ABG, arterial blood gas , their relationship to the acid-base balance, and the compensatory mechanisms that take place to maintain normal blood pH. The most common acid-base disturbances are then discussed and illustrated using this method as well as how to interpret the values quickly and accurately using the H model.
