FISH OUT OF WATER V (6 Programs)![]() FISH OUT OF WATER is APTN's hit documentary series featuring host Don Kelly, as he journeys back to traditional native lands to discover the origins of his heritage. Through a series of misadventures, Don is pushed to his limits and re-connects with his roots and spiritual values. Don is our "Fish Out of Water". As a young, modern, First Nations Ojibway professional during the day, Don works as a successful executive for a national organization. By night he is a stand up comedian. Yet this super suave comedic genius must go back to the land to face his greatest challenges - by learning from his Elders. There are six 24-minute programs:: 1. SUNCHILD FIRST NATION (N.W. Alberta) Don Kelly and Dawn Dumont meet with members of the Sunchild First Nation in north-western Alberta to learn about this horse riding and duck hunting culture. RED EAGLE MEDICINE (Alberta) Don Kelly and Dawn Dumont journey to Wabamun Lake near Calgary, Alberta to learn of the traditional native healing medicines found in the forests. From traditional teas to healing poultices, Don and Dawn are passed down a few of the secrets of traditional medicines. 3. BEARDY FIRST NATION (Saskatchewan) Don Kelly and Dawn Dumont join our guides with the Saskatchewan Resource Rangers to learn some skills on how to survive out on the prairies. It is the final challenge of being stalked by a couple of native cowboys, however, that has our duo sweating. 4. SASKATCHEWAN INDIAN CULTURAL CENTRE (Saskatchewan) Don Kelly and Dawn Dumont head to central Saskatchewan to learn the importance of the Saskatoon berry bush and to learn a traditional gambling game. In addition to learning about an old native prediction, Don and Dawn must see how well they would survive if the native prediction comes true. 5.
