First introduced in the early 90's, the Coaching The® Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) courses for ambulance, fire and police personnel quickly became accepted as standards in driver training for these fields. Since then, over 500,000 emergency professionals have been trained with the CEVO programs. Now a revised and updated CEVO 3: Ambulance™ course is available that is based on valuable input from participants, instructors, and loss prevention professionals. As with the original program, operators will appreciate CEVO 3's non-lecture, participant-intensive educational approach, and instructors will appreciate the program's flexible and easy-to-use format. The core 6-hour course is divided into 5 sessions, which can be presented in one day or spread out over multiple days.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Video Presentation which offers comprehensive coverage of collision prevention techniques and issues, including:
*Cushion of safety including vehicle positioning
*Scanning and handling blind spots
*Safe backing procedures, parking procedures and safety at the emergency scene
*Vehicle inspection plus vehicle handling and design characteristics
*Driving with lights and siren, and driving in non-emergency situations
*Personal description of results of court case involving fatal collision while driving with lights and siren
*Also includes in-vehicle video cam shots of actual collisions

Discussion Scenarios which generate group discussion concerning collision avoidance skills and techniques applicable to daily driving.

INSTRUCTOR'S GUIDE which is fully scripted and gives step-by-step guidelines for presenting the course. Its format includes wide margins to allow insertion of specific squad policies and procedures. It includes all answers to the response book and discussion scenario questions -and a reproducible class registration form, and observation checklist to assist the instructor when observing and evaluating actual on-road performance.

RESPONSE BOOK (one per trainee) with 16 pages that include a self-appraisal, follow-up discussion questions, situation and collision analyses, coaching reminder points, and a final exam that is returned to Coaching Systems for scoring. Test results, correct answers to questions that are missed, certificate of completion and embroidered patch are returned.
