Interweaving first-person accounts by teens who grew up in violent homes, dramatic stories, and interviews with experts, the program helps viewers distinguish between what is normal family life and what is not, and learn coping skills. Defines and illustrates examples of domestic violence as well as verbal and emotional abuse. A discussion group explores domestic violence issues, dispels myths, and provides answers to questions. Examines the impact of domestic violence on children - the emotions it generates, its effect on their cognitive and physical development, the family roles they take on, and the increased likelihood that they will follow their parents' violent example.
