CARDIAC DISORDERS: Coronary Artery Disease Series (2 Programs) DVD
This two part program discusses one of the most prevalent health problems in the world- coronary artery disease.
In PART ONE, we look at the definition of coronary artery disease and its impact on the health care system. The risk factors that lead to the disease are then examined. There is a detailed discussion of the pathophysiology of plaque development, including the problems arising from plaque rupture. The program concludes with a description of the symptoms caused by coronary artery disease. 14 minutes
Because this disease may be lethal and yet asymptomatic, early diagnosis is important. PART TWO discusses the different methods of diagnosing coronary artery disease, including history and physical exam, laboratory studies, invasive and noninvasive testing, and new areas of research. The program concludes with the American Heart Association Guidelines for the Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke, presented along with the goals and recommendations associated with each risk factor. 13 minutes
