CULTURAL COMPETENCY: Understanding Total Diversity
Culture is more than just ethnicity. This program enables viewers to broaden their view of culture, and learn how to better meet the needs of the populations they do, or would like to, serve. Examines how to assess both personal and organizational level of competence. Also discusses methods and activities that can help enhance personal levels of cultural competency and, ultimately, that of any organization. In addition, explores information-gathering, outreach, program adaptation, and potential participant conflict that occurs when engaging new participants. Thought-provoking and suited to group participation, the DVD guides viewers through pair-and-share and team discussion to help advancement along the cultural-competence continuum.
