REAL WORLD SCIENCE III (4 Programs) DVD

These four programs (approximately 15 minutes each) are designed to make science relevant in a child's every day life. Peer hosts introduce live-action, concrete situations to help teach scientific concepts and principles. Colorful graphics, animation & detailed diagrams are used throughout to reinforce the learning process. See also Volume I #1720 and Volume II #5110 for more of this series.

All programs include a Teacher's Guide and Student Worksheets. The four programs in the series are:

1) FORCES #5058 - Encourages children to explore the world of science in their immediate surroundings. Through observation and experimentation viewers learn properties of forces, Newton's Laws of Motion and how pressure affects the world around them.

2) SOUND #5059 - Teaches the principles of sound, the range of human hearing and relevant terms as viewers discover the science behind everyday sounds.

3) LIGHT #5060 - Using real world demonstrations and colorful graphics, this program explains the different properties of light, pertinent definitions and how light travels. Covers different mediums, reflection, refraction and absorption.

4) ECOSYSTEMS & BIOMES #5061 - Takes a journey around the globe to tropical rain forests, deserts and oceans. Explains regions and climates, and the impact environments and living organisms have on each other.
