REAL WORLD SCIENCE II (4 Programs) DVD
These four programs (approximately 15 minutes each) are designed to continue the process (see REAL WORLD SCIENCE I #1720 & III #5090) of making science relevant in four new areas of a child's (Grades 3-5) every day life. Peer hosts introduce live-action, concrete situations to help teach scientific concepts and principles. Colorful graphics, animation & detailed diagrams are used throughout to reinforce the learning process.
All programs include a Teacher's Guide and Student Worksheets. The four programs in the series are:
1) MATTER (Solids, Liquids, Gases) #1934 - Matter? What does it matter? Young viewers learn that matter is everything around them. All the solids, liquids and gases that they experience are made up of matter and their different properties make a huge difference in the reality they experience.
2) ELECTRICITY #1935 - The world as we know it is completely dependent on the availability of electricity but its many properties are never obvious. Young viewers begin to learn what it is and where it comes from.
3) THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD #1936 - This video introduces young viewers to the idea that science, as we know it, is a systematic approach to asking questions and solving problems based on the Scientific Method.
4) MAGNETISM #1937 - Magnets are GREAT! Magnetism is everywhere. But what is it and why does it push and pull the way it does? This video tells all.
