RESPECT FOR DIFFERENCES Student Workshop
While hatred, stereotyping, and intolerance seem almost to overwhelm, it has fallen to educators to instill in children a respect for differences and a tolerance of 'others'. Through a series of pointed scenarios, young viewers can begin to grasp what it feels like to be different from others in a group, to appreciate those others' intrinsic worth and dignity, and to understand how respect for others can make a critical difference in our world.
Varying physical and mental abilities and skill levels, religious differences, as well as gender stereotyping are all discussed while maintaining focus on the importance and wonder of individuality.
