Episode Two - THE GLOBAL MARKETPLACE - The Benefits of Globalization
Many people around the world believe a keen business sense is not incompatible with a social conscience. Although the '60's may have come and gone, some of the values that emerged in those times are making themselves felt in corporate boardrooms. Faced with increasing cuts to government social assistance programs, grassroots organizations in the industrialized world are learning from their counterparts in developing countries. Having never had the experience of a social safety net, third world assistance programs are showing them how to implement community-based programs to help people cope with the downside of globalization - the disappearance of a social safety net and a growing gap between the have and have nots.
