SUCCESSFUL TRAUMA THERAPIES (2 Programs) DVD
Aimed at professional counselors and therapists, this two-part series focuses on the nature of the clinician/client relationship as a critical measure of 'success' in trauma therapy. While every trauma therapy follows its own course, there are certain elements that successful therapies have in common. Establishing a genuinely 'therapeutic' relationship means a relationship that conveys respect, offers information, connection, and, perhaps most important of all, hope. Observations on this point are brought alive by accounts from therapist/client dyads who describe the challenges they overcame and the goals they achieved during the course of treatment.
The first program - DARING TO HOPE, 44 minutes - describes the evolution of the 'therapeutic' relationship that can weather crises, resolve conflicts and work through impasses. The second program - RECLAIMING LIFE, 42 minutes - points out the critical importance of recognizing and making use of 'turning points' in the therapeutic process.
An additional video aimed at clients is available. It compliments the above series and is titled SUCCESS STORIES: Healing from Childhood Trauma #1236
